What is the cycle to work scheme and how does it work?
The Cycle to Work Scheme (generally known as the Bike to Work Scheme) is a tax incentive scheme to encourage employees to cycle to work. Under the scheme an employer can pay for a new bicycle (including bicycle accessories) and the employee then repays the cost in regular instalments from their gross salary.
What's the process?
If a bike shop near you sells Hemoton cycles, we recommend you go and try it out for yourself. If not, use the website to work out the right size and you can order directly from us.Once we know that your job accepts The Cycle To Work Scheme and that you can choose us as a supplier. It's really in your hands. Choose your bike and equipment from our website or book a slot to view a bike at our showroom in Cashel road, Crumlin. Once you've picked your bike and accessories we'll invoice your company. It can then take 1-2 weeks for an invoice to be paid. Once it has you can pick-up your bike at our showroom or we'll deliver it free.
How do I qualify for the scheme?
  • Check if your job accepts the scheme and choose us as your supplier.
  • Choose your bike and equipment from our website or visit our showroom in Crumlin.
  • We'll invoice your company and it takes 1-2 weeks for payment.
  • Collect your bike at our showroom or we'll deliver it for free.
  • Contact our customer service for any issues with your order, and we'll arrange a free replacement if necessary.
Is there a limit as to how much you can spend on a bike?
The maximum contribution your employer can make is €1500 towards the cost of the electric bike including accessories. However, if the bike you're interested in is €1800, you simply pay €300 up front and the company pays the remaining balance.
What documents do I need to fill out?
No documents need to be filled out with the retailer. Your employer will ask you to sign an agreement with them allowing them to deduct the cost of the bike outside of your savings from your salary at source to be spread over 12 months.
How often can I change my bike?
Every 4 years.
Are you based in Ireland?
Yes we are based in Crumlin in Dublin and Navan, Co.Meath.
What warranty do you offer?
1-year warranty on all items with service available if required within Ireland.
Do you take trade ins?
No unfortunately not at this moment in time.
Can you get a scooter on the cycle to work scheme ?
No unfortunately the Cycle to Work Scheme is for bikes only. You can spread the cost of scooter using Humm finance or our Christmas Club.
